From a simple vision to a nationwide movement. Explore the milestones that have defined our mission to transform the next generation of African youth over the past 15 years.
Transforming the Next Generation Initiative (TNGI) was officially founded with a bold vision: to address the leadership and educational deficit among African youths. What started as small mentoring sessions quickly grew into a recognized force for positive change in Osun State.
The inaugural Youth Mentoring and Leadership Academy (YMLA) was launched. Designed as a free, immersive bootcamp, the first edition hosted over 50 youths, providing intense leadership training, destiny discovery, and foundational skill acquisition.
Recognizing the need to reach students directly in their academic environments, TNGI launched "Operation 200 Schools". This massive outreach campaign brought mentorship, career guidance, and anti-vice advocacy to secondary schools across the region.
The Student Mentorship and Discipleship Program (SMDP) was formalized and expanded to tertiary institutions. This created a structured pathway for continuous mentorship, allowing university students to receive ongoing support and peer leadership training.
To further break down barriers to education, the TPI Scholarship initiative was established. This fund began providing financial assistance to indigent but exceptionally bright students, ensuring that financial constraints would not halt their academic excellence.
A major milestone in our history: securing the land and breaking ground for the International Youth Transformation Centre (IYTC) permanent site. While operating from our temporary hub in Ile-Ife, the permanent site represents the future of scalable youth empowerment in Africa.
Today, TNGI has successfully hosted 14 editions of YMLA, partnered with dozens of corporate and academic institutions, and impacted thousands of lives. The journey continues as we build sustainable systems to empower the next generation.
